There are two types of Vaal – Gode Vaal (sweet in taste) and Kadve Vaal (slightly bitter in taste). Bitter field beans are a part of the Maharashtrian staple diet. These beans taste like Soya beans but have a little bitter taste. It is used to make sabzi, pulao, usal, pancakes and dalimbi.
